About the president election of U.S.A

Before I came here, I knew that there was going to be the president election of America. The U.S.A makes a huge impact on the whole world, so I was looking forward to be in the U.S.A when the world affair happens. On 4th November I watched the historic event, dramatic result. I was so touched and surprised more than I imagined.
The U.S.A doesn’t have good reputation. It is considered as a great power and a major player but selfish, merciless, cruel country. Many Americans were disappointing about their country and wanted to be change. That leads this election’s results. All white, black, Asian, Hispanic, the poor, the rich people choose the African-American person as their president. It’s the first African-American president in the history of U.S.A. They wanted change, integration, development, and a great leader and they got that.
This election has several unusual things in many ways except the African-American president. The internet has influenced the voters than former elections. The president is so young. So many people participated in this election. The country has suffered from the economic crisis, etc.
This election reminds me our own countries situation. Four years ago we elected No, Muhyun as our president. However many people couldn’t predict this result. We thought the other candidate would be the president, but internet and cell-phone has changed the situation. I can see the power of media, internet. It’s really amazingly fast way to communicate with.
Koreans elected the president who can handle the economic crisis in the last election. There were great a wide margin. It’s so obvious that people wanted to solve the economic problems. Before this economic crisis many Korean people weren’t interested in politics.
Those two last elections in Korea have a lot in common with this American election. We wanted to change, and we thought we made some change. However, we are a little disappointing about our decisions so far.
I hope that Obama can keep his words. He made a lot of people who didn’t care about the politics, who hates governors change their mind. He is the man with dream and hope. He became the president of the most powerful country in the world. That means there are many people who want to share Obama’s idea. I desire that through this sensational event the world become more peaceful, better place to live altogether.
